Well-known maritime writer and nautical historian Maynard Bray, and his wife Anne (she used to manage the WoodenBoat Library) have teamed-up to create a book that brings you many designs hidden away in old copies of The Rudder magazine. They have spent years pouring over The Rudder and have culled some very interesting designs for this book.
Designs to Inspire is divided evenly between sail and power, with the sailboat catagories grouped as: Cat Rigs, Sloops & Cutters, Ketches & Yawls, Schooners & Square Rigs. And the power: Launches, Runabouts & Raceboats, Power Cruisers, Motor Yachts, Commercial boats.
This is a book of line drawings faithfully reproduced from the original issues of The Rudder, improved only by Maynard's unique perspective, with designs selected as well as his commentary in caption format.
